Same problem as defined in a previous review. Problem started when couldn’t turn the unit off. 1-2 weeks after turning on/off simply by plugging in and unplugging respectively, just stopped working. The initial problem (not turning off) is a fire hazard.....think this unit requires a safety recall.
Unfortunately, this is a prime example of why reviews on products read on the internet just arnt worth a damn. Rated high, but wont work at all after just 2 months! I never moved, dropped, damaged, or even jostled the unit. It has less than 150 hours of use and will not turn on at all. Never had a drop of moisture of any kind near this OUTDOOR, WATERPROOF (written right on the unit)) that was and is placed in my garage in Las Vegas where we have hod NO rain whatsoever in months and months now. I actually could of purchased many other heaters but Home Depot's ONLY unit that isn't made in China was this unit which was $25 more than any other unit they carry, and there is a lot of different space heaters that they carry. I, being a "Buy American" guy, spent more, and in this case got less. I am pissed.. My family has had no get together's all year cuz of friggin COVID-19, and TODAY my son than I haven't seen in over a year flew into to visit dad and hang out with dad in his mancave garage, only to be too chilly now to do so cus the heater, that worked fine last night wont turn on at all? I checked everything, and since I am not permitted to open the unit up to see if its a fuse or switch (warranty void if I do) I am not able to heat my garage man cave and I am one salty guy because of this. All I can say is I sure hope that Heat Storm makes this right tomorrow when I contact them. I am a FAIR reviewer. If they do me right I will say that if they dont, same thing! Stay Tuned.....
These feet worked with my Wifi unit after I added two #8-32 coarse nuts to hold the included screws. The brackets are shaped perfectly for the Wifi Phoenix 1500 unit but the Wifi Phoenix 1500 unit is missing nuts to hold the screws. It only cost me $1 to get a pack of #8-32 coarse nuts from my hardware store. I used a screwdriver and needle nose pliers to make my modification work for me.
This is what I did:
1. Removed the 12 screws holding the white/black front bezel
2. Carefully loosened the white/black front bezel. There are two wires that are connected so don't rip it off, just loosen it so you can access the bottom screw hole
3. Assemble the feet, push the front screw through it and align the nut to secure the screw. Used a pair of needle nose pliers to hold it in place.
4. Removed the power cord panel, and then pushed the back feet screw through it and aligned the nut to secure the screw there.
5. Once both screws are held in place with the nuts put the front bezel back on and apply the 12 screws you took off in step #1.
That's it, took 15 minutes.
Worked just fine with my Wifi Version Unit that was supposed to be wall mount. I did not have to modify the Wifi unit at all, I just had to unscrew the existing mounting leg and then just mounted these feet with the screws that came in the feet order. Easy deal, took 3 minutes.
I'm puzzled as to why they list this as something that doesn't work with the Wifi unit...
I live in an "interesting" home with my family which includes daughter, grand-daughter and great-granddaughter (and the first two have husbands). Because my granddaughter is pregnant, we must accede to her demands for a cooler house. I'm old and like a bit more heat in my section, this has been the perfect solution, it isn't necessary to run all the time but when it is, it makes life quite comfortable for me. Thank you
Warms up pretty quickly and I like the digital temperature display and that heater turns off when it reaches temp
I have three units and I really like the new unit with its updates including front panel and app page
